Buying Guide: WDM Media Converter in Pakistan
WDM stands for wavelength division multiplexing. A WDM media converter sends and receives on different wavelengths, so one single fiber strand carries both directions. That saves fiber when you only have one strand between two points.
WDM converters work in matched pairs: one unit sends at 1310nm and receives at 1550nm, and the other does the opposite. The MC111CS and MC112CS are the 10/100Mbps pair, and the MC211CS-20 and MC212CS-20 are the Gigabit pair.
Order both units of a pair together. For normal two-strand fiber, see the other media converter pages linked here.
