TP-Link Omada Wall Plate Access Points

Buying Guide: Wall Plate Access Points in Pakistan

A wall plate access point looks like a wall socket. It fits into a standard wall box, adds Wi-Fi to the room and offers wired ports for a TV, a phone or a PC, so it is a favourite for hotels, hostels, hospitals, clinics and student rooms.

Install one per room or per two rooms. Because each unit covers a small area, the signal stays strong inside the room, and the controller lets guests roam between rooms. The Wi-Fi 6 EAP615-Wall and EAP655-Wall suit most hotels, while the Wi-Fi 7 models suit premium properties.

Pakistani offices, schools, hotels, clinics, factories and shopping marts choose Omada access points because one controller can run Wi-Fi across many rooms, floors and branches in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta. People roam from room to room without dropping a call, and you can add more access points as the business grows.

Power cuts are common, so power the access points through a PoE switch and put that one switch on a UPS. The Wi-Fi then stays up during load shedding without a UPS at every access point. Omada access points take 802.3af/at PoE, so one network cable carries both data and power.

As a rule of thumb, one access point covers two to four rooms indoors or one open hall. An office of 20 to 30 people usually needs one access point per floor or per 150 to 200 square metres, and busy places such as schools, hotels, restaurants and marts need more.
