Buying Guide: Wi-Fi 7 Access Points in Pakistan
Wi-Fi 7 is the newest generation. It brings wider channels, the 6 GHz band and multi-link operation, so a Wi-Fi 7 device can use several bands at once for higher speed and lower delay. It suits busy offices, universities, hotels and sites that want a network that stays modern for many years.
You need Wi-Fi 7 client devices to get the full speed, but the access points also serve Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5 devices. If your devices are mostly older, a Wi-Fi 6 model is cheaper and enough. If you are building a new network to last, choose Wi-Fi 7.
Pakistani offices, schools, hotels, clinics, factories and shopping marts choose Omada access points because one controller can run Wi-Fi across many rooms, floors and branches in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta. People roam from room to room without dropping a call, and you can add more access points as the business grows.
Power cuts are common, so power the access points through a PoE switch and put that one switch on a UPS. The Wi-Fi then stays up during load shedding without a UPS at every access point. Omada access points take 802.3af/at PoE, so one network cable carries both data and power.
As a rule of thumb, one access point covers two to four rooms indoors or one open hall. An office of 20 to 30 people usually needs one access point per floor or per 150 to 200 square metres, and busy places such as schools, hotels, restaurants and marts need more.
FAQs
Do I need Wi-Fi 7 devices?
To get the full Wi-Fi 7 speed you do, but older devices still connect.
Is Wi-Fi 7 worth it in Pakistan today?
It is worth it for new networks that should last for years or sites with heavy traffic. Otherwise Wi-Fi 6 is enough.
What is multi-link operation?
It lets a Wi-Fi 7 device use more than one band at the same time for higher speed and lower delay.
Do Wi-Fi 7 access points need a special switch?
They work on PoE, and a multi-gig PoE switch helps unlock the top speeds.
How do I get the price?
Prices change often, so contact One Chip for the latest price of any model.
Do I need a PoE switch?
Omada access points run on PoE, so a PoE switch or a PoE injector gives power and data over one cable.
